ELEGIES FOR ANGELS, PUNKS AND RAGING QUEENS is a poetic, theatrical concert reflecting a celebration of lives lived, loved, and lost from AIDS. A series of characters, including drug users, mothers, and members of the queer society take us into the epicenter of the onset of the crisis in the 80’s, sharing a variety of perspectives and emotional responses to the epidemic. There are over 30 poems ranging from the touching, to dramatic to humorous. Interjections by friends and family members through song show that it is not only the infected that are affected by this disease. Sewn together this creates a theatrical event with humor and heart for humanity.
