Endgame

A pinnacle of Beckett’s characteristic raw minimalism, ENDGAME is a pure and devastating distillation of the human essence in the face of approaching death, and is commonly considered (along with Waiting for Godot) to be his most important work. In full absurdist style, this bizarre and cruel play uses black humor to explore how humans find meaning in a world full of suffering. Steeped in dystopian lore reminiscent of 1984 and The Road, Endgame takes the devastation and paranoia delivered upon society from the Second World War and translates it into a master thesis on despair, indifference, and the human condition.
